HISTORY
TitleSource, LLC provides business solutions to a broad
range of customers - real estate professionals, lenders, builders,
developers, and attorneys across the state of Louisiana and Mississippi.
We have been conducting business for over 5 years to aid the people of
the Louisiana and Mississippi area in closing their new home.
It has been our mission to see the buyer and seller
working together to help each other reach their goals.
William Edgett, President has been in the title
business for 11 years. Mark F Gates, Vice president / Attorney has
been in the legal profession for about 10 years.
PRODUCTS & SERVICES
TitleSource services all sixty-four parishes in the State of
Louisiana and all of the counties in the State of Mississippi.
We do full title searches, research records for
thirty-one years, and acquisition forward searches covering ten
years on judgments and liens.
We also do judgments and lien searches on buyers.
Upon completion of the searches and title examination, we will
type and fax you a Title Commitment. Our company also orders
payoff figures, clears title problems, secures insurance information,
and can order surveys and Elevation Certificates, “no-work”
affidavits, and anything else you may need for your closing.
We handle sales, refinances, 2nd mortgages, and construction loans.
Upon completion of the loan closings, and after the rescission period,
(if any), we then do the disbursing of the loans and recordation.
We will then issue you a title policy, (if desired), and cancel any
existing mortgages or liens. We are also capable of receiving email
and receiving documents through the Internet at info@titlesourcellc.com.

BACKGROUND
As a registered Architect since 1987, Mr. Gates has extensive hands-on experience in the construction industry. Mr. Gates has worked as a construction administrator for a property management company, as a project architect for a major architectural firm, and as a specialist in both national and local zoning, building and life safety codes. Mr. Gates has also worked as the first Building Official for the City of New Orleans, and as Deputy Director of the Vieux Carre Commission regulating development in the Historical French Quarter District in the City of New Orleans. Mr. Gates has served as the Administrator, Inspections and Investigations, for the Office of the State Fire Marshal. Mr. Gates also served as Deputy Assistant Secretary/Chief Architect, for the Office of the State Fire Marshal. Mr. Gates is a founding partner and currently of counsel to the firm of Clement & Gates, a Limited Liability Company, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mr. Gates is also a founding partner of the firm TitleSource, a Limited Liability Company in Metairie, Louisiana.
Mr. Gates was appointed to an ad hoc committee charged with drafting the Existing Buildings Code for the Southern Building Code Congress International. Mr. Gates is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
Mr. Gates received his law degree from Loyola University in New Orleans in 1995. Mr. Gates served as a member of the Loyola University Law School Moot Court staff and the Environmental Law Society. As a member of the Environmental Law Society, Mr. Gates contributed to the Louisiana Environmental Compliance Survival Guide, an overview of environmental laws and regulations affecting Louisiana.
Mr. Gates was admitted to practice law in Louisiana in 1995 and in Mississippi in 2003. In addition, Mr. Gates is admitted to practice law before the United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit; the United States District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana; the United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi; and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi. Mr. Gates has represented architects, owners, developers and contractors in the area of construction law, real estate transactions and insurance defense. Mr. Gates is a member of the American Bar Association; the Forum Committee on the Construction Industry; the Louisiana State Bar Association; the Mississippi Bar Association; and, the Mississippi Bar Young Lawyers Division. Mr. Gates also serves on the Board of Directors for Mount Carmel Academy in New Orleans and is a United State Soccer Federation (USSF) Certified Soccer Referee.
